When a woman reaches the age between 45 and 60, expect the natural occurence of aging, end of menstrual flow, and stopping of production of estrogens. But did you know that women reaching the menopausal stage are at risk of getting osteoporosis and heart disease?
In this stage, women are more likely to suffer from osteoporosis or the thinning of the bones. This rapid change occurs due to the loss of estrogen in the body. Other factors that increase the risk of this illness are vices, such as cigarette smoking, family history, slim body built and race (Caucasian or Asian).

It happens quite suddenly. You spot her across a crowded room, walking as if she’s gliding, the kind of woman who looked so gentle, she probably didn’t leave footprints. You just try to soak her in, trying to hear her voice over the pounding of your heart in you ears. She looks your way, your eyes connecting. Was that a nod and a smile? Boy, she gives a great nod. You feel flushed, and try to settle yourself down before approaching. Eventually, you try a cute opening line, and she smiles at how hokey it sounds. But she smiles. Man, I can’ believe she’s talking to me. And that smile!
You actually get up the nerve to ask her number, and she gives it to you. A couple of days later (so as not to appear too eager), you ask her out, and she accepts. You actually don’t need to, since you spend hours on the phone. She likes a lot of the same things you do, surprisingly laughs at your jokes (an even bigger surprise). She even has a funny little smile. Everything about her is great.

Q: I’ve been planning to do yoga 3 times a week. Is it a good substitute for a weight-training workout? Can I still achieve a well-defined body even if I won’t be lifting weights anymore?
A: You can switch to yoga and consider it as your full body resistance training for the week. When you execute yoga moves, your body becomes the resistance. Do poses like warrior 1 and 2 in place of the typical lunges, chair pose for squats, and planks and downward facing dog for the shoulders. However, it is still recommended that you lif weights at least one a week to maintain the shape, size, and strength of other muscle groups taht you can’t isolate while doing yoga.
In Yoga, we use the isometric contraction where you develop strength in one position and angle only, unlike in resistance training where we use the concentric and eccentric contraction to strengthen he uscles at different angles upon movement.
You do not really get bulk when you do yoga because you just use your body as resistance and no weight progresson is involved to bulk up.
The calorie burn after doing a one-hour yoga session would still depend on your heart rate, intensity of the class, and your body weight. Just remember that the more you use your lower body during the workout, the higher your heart rate is, and the more calories you can burn.

Medical research shows that, in average situations, one loses about 200 calories doing fast dancing nonstop for 30 minutes. For total cardiovascular fitness, one should have a regular regimen — at least three times a week — of ballroom dancing.
As long as one is feeling well and able to do activities, like ballroom dancing, or fast walking, and has no medical contraindication, one should continue to do so, not only for physical fitness, but also and more importantly, for social and mental health.
The dress codes for dance events have a wide range, but however casual or dressy the event, you’ll want to choose clothes that are both easy to dance in and kind to your partner.
Ballroom dance shoes are lightweight shoes with eiher suede (chrome leather) or smooth leather soles. Shoes should be chosen not only for appearance but also for comfort, support, performance and protection.

Cervical cancer is preventable. Yet, it is the second leading cause of death in most countries.
Symptoms will usually be irregular or increased vaginal bleeding or post coital staining. The precise cause of cervical cancer is not known. Women who have multiple sex partners are at increased risk, and the disease is more frequent in young prostitutes. Those who started intercourse at ages 14 or 15 years have higher risk than those who started intercourse over 20 years. Also, women married to men whose previous wives had developed cervical cancer had threefold increase frequency of the disease. The occurrence of diseases such as gonorrhea has also been shown to be associated with the frequency of cervical carcinoma. Alteration to immune function increases the risk of cancer, i.e. HIV infection. Certain viruses, such as papillomavirus, herpesvirus and cytomegalovirus have also been implicated.

There has been so much hype on how to lose weight. For most people, the primary goal of it is to look good and be accepted by society. However, the idea of losing weight goes beyond good looks. Once a person starts losing weight, the functions of the different organs in the body begin to improve as well. Take the heart as an example. Excessive fat surrounding this organ will become an obstacle to its regular function, forcing the heart muscles to overwork. An overworked and overloaded heart will inadequately supply blood to our vital organs leading to fatigue, chest discomfort, and the like. Cholesterol is always a major concern when it comes to obesity. This is a normal constituent in the body, however, in excess it can be harmful. Today’s living space is getting smaller, while the challenge of keeping it clean is getting bigger. We may not be aware of it, but a cluttered space at home may affect us and our visitors more than we think.
Proper Identification
De-cluttering cannot begin without the homeowner’s realization that his living space is already cluttered. So when can we identify that a space already is cluttered? If there are things lying around that do not belong to a specific area or a specific place, if you want a neat look, everything has to be in its proper place. Any item should be there for a reason. So if there are things lying around without any rhyme or reason, that’s the time to de-clutter. Psychologically, living in such a space will also not be visually-comforting for the homeowners.
It is said that dirty shoes reflect a dirty person. Where you live reflects the kind of person that you are. Needless to say, if your house is cluttered, you probably have a disorganized mind. It can also imply that you’re too busy to organize your living space.
